The Winpisinger Center has announced the launch of its Online Steward Training program, set to begin on October 1. The initiative is designed for new shop stewards who are unable to attend in-person training at the center.

“This initiative is another step forward in expanding our members’ access to quality union education, no matter where they live or work,” said Winpisinger Center Director Mary McHugh.

The training will be available to all members in good standing who serve as stewards. The program spans three consecutive weeks, with each session lasting two hours and covering two topics. To accommodate different schedules, sessions are offered three times per week.

The first week will address the role of the steward and steward rights and responsibilities. The second week will focus on grievances and investigations. The third week will cover just cause and discipline cases as well as contract cases and past practice.

Registration for the Online Steward Training can be completed online through the provided registration link or by using links listed in related materials. Members with questions are encouraged to contact the Winpisinger Center through an online form.
