The Vanderbilt estate known as “Miradero” in Gulf Stream has been sold for $21.6 million after being on the market for a month. The property, located at 1443 North Ocean Boulevard, was designed by Maurice Fatio and built in 1928 for Lila Vanderbilt Webb, the granddaughter of Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt.
The seller was the Ganger Miradero Community Property Trust, managed by the Ganger family. The buyer’s identity remains undisclosed, and the deed has not yet appeared in public records. Pascal and Antonio Liguori with Premier Estate Properties represented the listing, while Candace Friis from the Corcoran Group represented the buyer.
The Ganger family owned Miradero for decades. Robert W. Ganger, whose obituary appeared in Coastal Star earlier this year, had a long career at General Foods before it was acquired by Philip Morris Companies (now Altria) and later merged into Kraft Foods. His father, Robert M. Ganger, was an advertising executive recognized for his work promoting diet soda and filtered cigarettes.
According to Robert W. Ganger’s obituary, he and his father purchased Miradero in 1970 for an undisclosed sum. In the 1990s, Robert W. Ganger restored the estate with his wife Anneli Ganger. The compound consists of three buildings with nine bedrooms and ten bathrooms on one acre of land along 121 feet of beachfront.
Zillow indicated that the property was listed last month at $25 million before selling below asking price.
This transaction follows other high-value sales in Gulf Stream recently; attorney Henry Rosen bought a home at 3435 North Ocean Boulevard for $22 million earlier this month. Last year saw Debra Levitetz set a local record when she sold her oceanfront teardown for $39 million.
