The U.S. Census Bureau has released updated international population estimates and projections, extending demographic data up to the year 2100 for 21 countries and areas through its International Database (IDB). The updates include revised figures for countries such as Australia, Bangladesh, Nigeria, the United States, and others.
The latest release covers new data and analyses that have refined population estimates and projections. These updates are based on information from recent censuses, surveys, administrative records, and subsequent analyses of those sources.
In addition to national-level statistics, the release provides demographic data for 13,671 subnational regions comparable to U.S. states, counties, and townships across various countries. The update also introduces improved mapping features for users.
According to the Census Bureau: “The IDB consists of estimates and projections of demographic indicators, including population size and growth (by sex and single year of age up to 100-plus) and components of change (mortality, fertility and net international migration) for more than 220 countries and areas. The Census Bureau periodically updates the IDB as new data become available.”
These updated figures are available on the International Database Overview webpage.
