The Trump Library Foundation announced on Mar. 31 that the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library is planned as a skyscraper overlooking Biscayne Bay in Miami. A teaser video released by the foundation shows a large tower set to rise above Biscayne Boulevard, overshadowing nearby buildings.

The project is significant due to its scale and location, with plans for the $950 million development to serve as a prominent landmark. The site at 500-540 Biscayne Boulevard was donated by the state of Florida after being acquired from Miami Dade College, following a controversial process that included legal challenges.

Eric Trump, executive vice president of the Trump Organization and trustee for the library foundation, said on X: “This landmark on the water in Miami, Florida, will stand as a lasting testament to an amazing man, an amazing developer, and the greatest President our Nation has ever known.”

The proposed building would not include residential units but may feature hotel and commercial spaces. The design by Bermello Ajamil includes elements such as a replica of Air Force One in the lobby and gold statues of Donald Trump. The entrance is covered in gold tiles according to details shown in the promotional video.

IRS filings indicate that fundraising efforts are underway with expectations to raise $950 million over two years while Donald Trump remains in office. Major donations have come from ABC News ($15 million), CBS News ($16 million), and Meta ($22 million). The foundation has spent $400,000 compensating directors and trustees so far.

Board members include Eric Trump; Michael Boulous, husband of Tiffany Trump; and James Kiley, an attorney for Donald Trump.
