Three former University of Central Florida (UCF) football players will participate in Super Bowl LX. Two alumni, Amari Kight and Shaquill Griffin, are with the Seattle Seahawks, while Richie Grant is with the New England Patriots. The game is scheduled for February 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Amari Kight joined UCF as a graduate transfer in 2023 and started on the offensive line for two seasons. He graduated with a degree in interdisciplinary studies and a minor in sport business management.
Shaquill Griffin played as a defensive back at UCF, contributing to the team’s first New Year’s Six bowl win at the 2014 Fiesta Bowl. Griffin was drafted by the Seahawks in 2017 and has played for several NFL teams over his nine-year career. He rejoined Seattle last June and is currently on their practice squad. Griffin holds a bachelor’s degree in human communication.
Richie Grant signed with the Patriots’ practice squad in October. As an all-conference selection at UCF, he helped lead the Knights during their 25-0 unbeaten streak from 2017 to 2018 before being drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in 2021. Grant earned his bachelor’s degree in sport and exercise science with a minor in medical sociology.
To date, thirteen former Knights have won Super Bowl rings, most recently Jordan Franks with the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII in 2023.
