The Sunny, a renovated oceanfront hotel in Sunny Isles Beach, Miami, is set to open in October. The property was previously known as the Newport Beachside Resort and has undergone a complete transformation under its third-generation family ownership.

The revamped hotel features 340 redesigned rooms and introduces six new dining and cocktail venues. Among the highlights is the East Coast debut of Chef Ray Garcia’s ¡VIVA! restaurant, which will serve modern Mexican-American cuisine with views of the Atlantic Ocean. Other amenities include an in-lobby art program, a mezcal tasting lounge located beneath the stairs, fire pits on the beach, and live music events.

Located near one of Miami’s last public fishing piers—the Newport Pier—The Sunny aims to offer guests a personalized resort experience focused on cultural discovery and unique design elements. According to information provided by The Sunny’s team: “It’s not just a place to stay, it’s a place to stumble onto something special.”
