Florida Panthers player Sam Reinhart has purchased a waterfront home in Sea Ranch Lakes from former Inter Miami soccer player Sergio Busquets for $9 million. The transaction was completed three months after Busquets listed the property for $9.8 million.

Property records indicate that Reinhart and his wife, Jessica Jewel, acquired the house at 7 Seneca Road through a deal with Buga USA LLC, owned by Busquets. The listing was managed by Veroushka Maclean Volkert of One Sotheby’s International Realty and Vilma Datorre of Datorre Realty Group, while Betsy Rauch of VG Luxury Properties Realty represented the buyer.

Reinhart began his NHL career with the Buffalo Sabres in 2014 before joining the Florida Panthers in 2021. He has since contributed to back-to-back Stanley Cup victories for the team in 2024 and 2025.

Busquets is widely regarded as one of soccer’s leading defensive midfielders. After playing for FC Barcelona from 2008 to 2023, he joined Inter Miami alongside Lionel Messi and retired in December.

Busquets and his wife, Elena Galera, purchased the Sea Ranch Lakes home for $8.7 million in 2023. Built that same year on a 0.3-acre lot, the residence spans approximately 7,100 square feet and features seven bedrooms, six bathrooms, a half-bathroom, and about 100 feet of frontage on Lake Seneca.

Sea Ranch Lakes is a gated community located just outside Fort Lauderdale. Covering only about 0.2 square miles, it is mostly enclosed by walls and offers its own police force and mayor. The village contains fewer than 200 homes as well as a private beach club.

The community’s privacy measures have attracted several professional athletes over time. “It’s very chill. We’ve had NFL players, NBA players, race car drivers, executives,” Volkert told The Real Deal in 2023. “People are respectful, and it’s private, and they respect their privacy.”

The presence of high-profile residents may increase attention to real estate opportunities within Sea Ranch Lakes. In October, another property on Seneca Road sold for a record $13 million according to available records. Currently, a waterfront home at 34 Minnetonka Road is listed for sale at $20 million with Compass agent Tim Elmes handling the listing.
