Rebecca Grissom has been appointed as the Executive Director of Marketing, Communications, and Philanthropy for AdventHealth’s North Carolina Market. In this new role, she will oversee strategic marketing and communications, lead philanthropic activities, and work to enhance community engagement as AdventHealth seeks to broaden its healthcare services in Western North Carolina.

Grissom brings over ten years of experience in marketing and communications within both for-profit and nonprofit health systems. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tennessee. Before joining AdventHealth, she served as Division Director of Marketing and Communications at Mission Health in Asheville, North Carolina, where she led significant projects aimed at supporting growth and improving reputation.

Her leadership style emphasizes relationship-building and open communication. She prioritizes intentional listening, trust-building, and maintaining clear expectations to encourage collaboration among team members.

“In my professional life, trust and culture matter deeply,” Grissom says. “I believe trust is the foundation of strong teams and meaningful work. It allows for open communication, accountability and collaboration. A positive culture rooted in respect, support and shared purpose not only drives results but also creates an environment where people feel valued and empowered to thrive.”

A native of Western North Carolina, Grissom has expressed her dedication to serving the local community. She resides in Mills River with her husband—whom she met at Mount Pisgah Academy—and their two children. Outside of work, she participates in her church’s music ministry and enjoys spending time outdoors with her family.
