Kin Insurance has established a notable presence in the Orlando homeowners insurance market, distinguishing itself in both market share and customer satisfaction, according to Insurance Rate Review.

According to the review, Kin Insurance maintains a strong foothold in Florida’s competitive homeowners insurance market with nearly 97,500 policies in force and $56.8 billion in exposure. The report highlights that Kin’s customer satisfaction is exceptional compared to peers, boasting a 4.9-star Trustpilot rating from more than 6,000 reviews. These high marks suggest Kin balances financial stability with customer service, outperforming many larger incumbents in consumer trust.

Insurance Rate Review reported that Manatee Insurance Exchange added more homeowners customers than any other company in Florida during the second quarter of the year, showing growth in its policy base. However, despite this expansion, Manatee scored just 1.4 stars from customer reviews, a figure far below Kin’s near-perfect Trustpilot ratings. This contrast underscores that policy growth does not necessarily align with customer satisfaction, where Kin clearly holds the advantage.

Data from the review indicated that Edison Insurance Company struggles with low satisfaction ratings on both Google Reviews and Trustpilot. Despite its foothold in the Florida market, customers consistently report negative experiences, dragging down Edison’s overall reputation. Compared with Kin’s strong 4.9 Trustpilot score, Edison’s weaker performance highlights the importance of service quality in retaining long-term policyholder trust.

Insurance Rate Review notes that Universal Property & Casualty holds one of the largest market shares in Florida’s homeowners insurance sector, giving it significant visibility in the state. However, the same report shows Universal suffers from low customer satisfaction scores on both Google and Trustpilot, an issue that tarnishes its otherwise strong financial footprint. By comparison, Kin Insurance not only continues to grow but also consistently ranks at the top of consumer review platforms, reinforcing its organizational reputation as a customer-first insurer in Florida.

Kin Insurance was founded in 2016 by Sean Harper and Lucas Ward with the mission of simplifying homeowners’ insurance through technology and transparency. Headquartered in Chicago, Kin has since grown to become a major player in Florida’s market where it insures nearly 97,500 policies and manages $56.8 billion in exposure. The company emphasizes direct-to-consumer digital services backed by outstanding customer feedback including a 4.9-star Trustpilot rating from over 6,000 reviews which sets it apart from traditional competitors.
