Access to orthopedic care in Flagler County has expanded with the addition of Dr. Kunal Panwar, a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee reconstruction, to AdventHealth Palm Coast.

Dr. Panwar joins the AdventHealth Medical Group, which includes nearly 450 physicians and advanced practice providers across more than 30 specialties in Flagler, Lake, Sumter, and Volusia counties. This group is part of AdventHealth’s network that supports patients through every stage of care.

“I’m passionate about helping patients move freely again and return to the activities they love,” said Panwar. “Joint replacement surgery has gone through a tremendous amount of innovation, there are a wide variety of ways to improve recovery and healing after surgery. I really enjoy using muscle sparing approaches to the knee and the hip, combined with robotic technology to expedite recovery.”

Flagler County’s growing population includes many older adults who may need joint replacement procedures. Recruiting another orthopedic surgeon aims to address this local demand so residents can receive specialized care nearby rather than traveling elsewhere.

“Panwar brings exceptional skill and compassion to our orthopedic team,” said Denyse Bales-Chubb, president and CEO of AdventHealth Flagler and St. Johns counties. “His arrival means our community now has greater access to world-class joint replacement and robotic-assisted surgery — right here in Palm Coast, surrounded by the family and friends who support recovery.”

AdventHealth continues to invest in medical staff, technology, and facilities across its East Florida Division as the region prepares for significant population growth—projected at 1.4 million new residents by 2029. In 2024 alone, AdventHealth recruited nearly 120 physicians and advanced practitioners throughout the area—including approximately 25 in Flagler County—to help reduce wait times for specialized care.

Dr. Panwar specializes in both primary and revision hip and knee replacements using robotic-assisted techniques designed for each patient’s anatomy. This method enables smaller incisions, increased precision during surgery, and quicker recoveries.

He completed his fellowship at Albert Einstein University/Montefiore Medical Center—recognized among top U.S. orthopedic programs—and received his medical degree from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine before finishing residency at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto, California.

Patients can see Dr. Panwar at AdventHealth Medical Group Orthopedic Surgery located at 61 Memorial Medical Parkway, Suite 2801 in Palm Coast or call his office for appointments.

Founded in 1908 in Orlando, Florida, AdventHealth Orlando is led by President Terry Shaw; it operates as a training hospital with pediatric services.
