Orlando is preparing to host a series of major LGBTQ+ events this spring, with the city announcing on Mar. 16 that its Pride season will feature milestone anniversaries and a variety of celebrations. The lineup includes the 35th anniversary of GayDays and the 10th anniversary of the Pulse tragedy, both set to be marked during Pride Month.

These events are significant as they highlight Orlando’s reputation as an inclusive destination and provide opportunities for both residents and visitors to participate in community-focused activities. The city’s ongoing commitment to remembrance, unity, and love is reflected in these commemorations.

The Pride season begins in April with the fifth annual Pride Prom, themed “Time Travelers Ball,” which invites attendees aged 21 and over to dress from their favorite era. In June, GayDays returns for its milestone year from June 4–8, featuring new experiences such as comedy shows and game shows. Other notable events include Girls in Wonderland (June 4–8), One Magical Weekend at Walt Disney World Resort hotels (June 4–8), and The Pride Cup multi-sport event (June 5–7).

To honor the victims of the Pulse tragedy, two key remembrance events are planned: the CommUNITY Rainbow Run on June 6, starting at Orlando City Hall and ending at Lake Eola Park; and the City of Orlando Pulse Remembrance Ceremony on June 12 at First United Methodist Church of Orlando. Both aim to bring together thousands in reflection and celebration of resilience.

Beyond festivals, Orlando offers a range of LGBTQ+-owned businesses such as Southern Nights nightclub in Milk District, SAVOY Orlando in Ivanhoe Village district, Anthem downtown gay nightclub, The Outpost Tavern in Thornton Park District, Bites & Bubbles restaurant, and Se7en Bites bakery. These venues contribute to the city’s vibrant culture throughout the year.

Visit Orlando describes itself as “The Official Tourism Association for Orlando” representing more than 1,600 member companies across Central Florida’s tourism sector. The organization connects travelers with local attractions including theme parks, outdoor adventures, dining options recognized by Michelin Guide, entertainment offerings, and sports events.
