The Royal Poinciana Plaza in Palm Beach has welcomed two new retail tenants. Swedish candy store ScandyCandy began operations on Saturday, while British childrenswear boutique La Coqueta opened last month at The Current, a retail hub within the plaza, according to news releases from the landlord.
ScandyCandy was established by brothers Calle and Wille Olsed and has another U.S. location at 241 Miracle Mile in Coral Gables. La Coqueta is led by founder and creative director Celia Muñoz and also operates a store in Charleston, South Carolina.
The Royal Poinciana Plaza, originally developed in the 1950s, covers 192,000 square feet and features luxury retail space, gardens, and two courtyards. WS Development of Boston holds the leasehold for the plaza. The property itself is owned by a trust managed by Sidney Spiegel. The plaza is located at 340 Royal Poinciana Way. Details regarding the square footage leased by ScandyCandy and La Coqueta were not disclosed.
Separately, Herman Law—a firm that represents survivors of sexual abuse—has maintained its headquarters in Boca Raton while expanding its office space there. The law firm now leases 18,000 square feet at 1800 North Military Trail, up from its previous 10,000-square-foot office in the same building. According to a spokesperson for Herman Law, the firm employs about 200 people across eight offices nationwide—including locations in New York City; Buffalo; Los Angeles; San Diego; Sacramento—and plans to open an office in Baltimore.
Joe Freitas of CBRE represented the landlord for this transaction.
The four-story building at 1800 North Military Trail is part of Boca Center’s mixed-use complex. In 2022, Macquarie Capital | Principal Finance partnered with Vanderbilt Office Properties to acquire most of Boca Center for $261.5 million; this included paying $76.1 million for the building where Herman Law expanded its leasehold. Macquarie Capital serves as the financing and investment arm of Sydney-based Macquarie Group under CEO Shemara Wikramanayake; Vanderbilt Office Properties is headquartered in Chicago with Casey Wold as CEO.
