A gym and wellness club is set to open its first location outside Los Angeles at The Rivani, a mixed-use building in South Beach. Monarch Athletic Club has signed a lease for 8,000 square feet at 1691 Michigan Avenue in Miami Beach. The club, co-founded by Dr. Ryan M. Greene and Paul Freschi, plans to open next year.

Monarch Athletic Club provides members with medical evaluations and quarterly follow-ups, including physical therapy, strength and nutrition assessments. Additional services include IV therapy, hormone and peptide optimization, ice baths, and infrared saunas. Staff at the club includes physicians, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, nutritionists, and strength coaches.

Robert Rivani moved his company from Los Angeles to Miami in 2022 and is currently overseeing a $40 million renovation of the seven-story building now named The Rivani. He has introduced the term “Class X” to describe the expected quality of the property after renovations are completed next year.

In August, it was announced that PLBY Group will relocate its headquarters from Los Angeles to The Rivani building. The company leased 20,000 square feet for its 250 employees and expects to move in next year.

Kimco Realty has secured two new tenants at its Palms at Town and Country shopping center in Kendall. Starbucks recently opened a 3,700-square-foot coffee shop in a space formerly occupied by Burger King. Barnes & Noble will open a bookstore exceeding 20,000 square feet with an attached café this week in the former Forever 21 space. Kimco Realty owns the 80-acre retail center located at Southwest 88th Street and the Florida Turnpike.

Citizens Financial Group will soon open Citizens Private Bank at 400 Royal Palm Way in Palm Beach. Led by CEO Bruce Van Saun, Citizens Financial Group reported assets under management of about $218.3 billion as of the end of the second quarter.

The Palm Beach property is owned by an entity partially controlled by Thomas C. Quick of First Palm Beach Property.

Jrk!, a Jamaican restaurant led by co-founder Kavan Burke with chef Wayne Sharpe overseeing culinary operations, will open a new location at Dadeland Mall next month. This marks its third outlet in Miami-Dade County; other locations include downtown Miami and Aventura Mall. Jrk! also plans to launch a concession stand at Kaseya Center for the upcoming basketball season.

Dadeland Mall is owned by Simon Property Group based in Indianapolis.
