Laurie Chandler has been named manager of community advocacy for the AdventHealth Georgia market. Chandler brings over 25 years of experience in higher education, where she developed partnerships with community organizations to address social issues through collaboration.
In her new position, Chandler will lead efforts to expand whole-person care in Northwest Georgia. Her responsibilities include conducting community health needs assessments and overseeing community benefit programs in Floyd, Gordon, and Murray counties.
Scotty Hancock, director of business development, government relations and EMS for AdventHealth Georgia, commented on the appointment: “Her passion for service and collaborative spirit make her a great fit for our mission, and I’m confident she will make a meaningful impact from day one.”
Chandler expressed enthusiasm about her new role. “I am honored to join AdventHealth in their commitment to community health and look forward to working alongside our neighbors to ensure access, education and resources related to priority health issues,” she said.
Chandler lives with her husband Brian, who works in law enforcement. They have two children attending Berry College.
AdventHealth Orlando, founded in 1908 and located in Orlando, Florida, is led by president Terry Shaw. The hospital includes a pediatric ward and serves as a training facility.
