Jack Henkel has been promoted to chief operating officer at the Florida High Tech Corridor, according to a March 18 announcement from the organization.

Henkel’s new role will involve working with leadership to support daily operations and guide the long-term strategic growth of the Cenfluence initiative. The appointment is seen as an effort to strengthen programs that help high-tech companies in the region.

Henkel has been part of the Corridor team since 2021. Before joining, he worked at the International Business Innovation Association and University of Central Florida Venture Accelerator. He will continue his direct involvement with innovative companies through two programs: serving as senior cluster manager for the Gaming, Entertainment and Immersive Technology cluster, and as program manager for the Florida Federal & State Technology Partnership Program (FL FAST), which delivers programming related to research and development funding through the SBIR/STTR program across Florida.

The organization said this combination of operational leadership and on-the-ground support is intended to expand both Cenfluence and FL FAST initiatives. According to the announcement, these efforts are aimed at helping high-tech companies launch, scale, and grow throughout the region.

Henkel is originally from Jacksonville and holds three degrees from the University of Central Florida: dual bachelor’s degrees in marketing and finance, as well as a Master of Business Administration.
