IAM members employed by Greyhound have ratified a new three-year collective bargaining agreement. The contract, which applies to Greyhound workers across the country, includes general wage increases of 3.75% in the first year, 3.5% in the second year, and 3.25% in the third year. Health and welfare contributions will rise gradually during the term of the agreement while maintaining the current cost share split for participation in the IAM Healthcare Plan.
Other notable elements of the agreement are a revised vacation schedule that lowers years-of-service requirements, higher premiums for CDL holders, an increased tool allowance, a $50 reimbursement for prescription safety glasses, open enrollment periods aligned with contract renewals, and a new pay structure for Junior Master and Master Technicians. This structure rewards Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications with premium pay above journeyman rates.
“This was a challenging negotiation due to Greyhound’s transition to its new parent company Flix SE, but our team secured the best contract to date for our members,” said IAM Automotive Director Craig Hughes. “I want to thank IAM leadership for expanding our department and bringing on Special Representative Heather Hildebrand. Heather did an outstanding job leading these negotiations for the first time.”
Hildebrand also commented on her role in securing this contract: “Our members stood strong, and we delivered real gains in pay, benefits, and career opportunities,” said Hildebrand. “It was an honor to lead this negotiation alongside such a committed bargaining committee. This agreement reflects the strength of IAM members at Greyhound and the value they bring to the company every day.”
