The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) will begin accepting applications for its 2026 IAM Scholarship Competition on October 1, 2025. The application period will close on February 6, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Entries must be submitted online.

The competition is open to IAM members with at least two years of continuous service and to their children who are current high school seniors in the United States and Canada.

According to the IAM, more than 300 applicants participated in the 2025 competition, resulting in the award of 16 scholarships valued at $4,000 each. In addition to academic scholarships, there is a vocational-technical two-year scholarship available for both members and their children.

“The IAM Scholarship Fund, used exclusively to make these awards possible, was established by the 1960 IAM Grand Lodge Convention delegates.”
