The 2025 IAM International President’s Classic golf tournament took place at Fox Ridge Golf Club in Auburn, Maine, raising over $150,000 for the Maine Museum of Innovation, Learning and Labor (Maine MILL). The event gathered members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), labor allies, and supporters from across North America to support the museum dedicated to preserving the history of workers, immigrants, and communities who contributed to Maine’s mills.

“This event is about honoring the history of working people and giving back to the communities that raised us,” said IAM International President Brian Bryant. “Supporting Maine MILL means preserving the stories of the working class. As someone who grew up in Maine, this cause is close to my heart, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we accomplished together.”

Dozens of teams participated in the charity golf tournament. The day included raffles, giveaways, and remarks from leaders representing both IAM Union and Maine MILL. Attendees represented various parts of the labor movement with a common goal: supporting a museum focused on education and storytelling about labor history in Lewiston.

“This incredible show of support from International President Bryant and the IAM Union will help us continue preserving and celebrating the legacy of Maine’s workers,” said Rachel Ferrante, Executive Director of the Maine MILL. “We’re so grateful to everyone who participated and donated. Your generosity is making history.”

Funds raised from this year’s tournament are allocated toward rehabilitating Maine MILL’s former Camden Yarns Mill location. Plans include adding an addition that will serve as its permanent home. Construction has already started on this project with an expected opening date in summer 2026. The new facility will provide space for permanent collections as well as temporary galleries, classrooms, children’s areas, and a design lab intended to foster community engagement.

More than 50 organizations sponsored holes during the event. Major sponsors included IAM International President’s Office; several IAM territories including Eastern Territory; Districts 4 and 142; Locals S6 and 4; Jones Granger Law Firm; Employee Benefit Systems Inc.; National Group Protection; American Income Life; Met Life Investment Management; The Kelly Companies; among others.
