Florida has achieved a new record in high school graduation rates, reaching 92.2% for the 2024-25 academic year. The announcement was made by Governor Ron DeSantis during the State of the State address on January 13, 2026. This figure represents an increase of 2.5 percentage points compared to the previous year and a total rise of 4.9 percentage points since the 2021-22 school year.
Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas commented on the achievement, stating: “Florida’s historic graduation rate reflects the power of Governor DeSantis’ strong leadership, clear expectations, and unwavering commitment to student success. These achievements demonstrate what can be accomplished when we uphold rigorous standards, provide robust support to schools and prepare every student for success beyond graduation.”
The state attributes this progress to policies emphasizing high standards, accountability measures, parental rights, and expanded educational options for families. According to officials, these efforts are part of a broader initiative aimed at ensuring all students are prepared for postsecondary education and future careers.
