Medical students and residents from across Florida gathered in Tallahassee this week for the annual Days at the Capitol event, organized by the Florida Medical Association (FMA). The event took place at the FMA’s downtown office on Tuesday.

Participants included members of the FMA’s Medical Student Section (MSS) and Resident & Fellow Section (RFS), who visited the state Capitol to observe legislative proceedings. The visit aimed to provide these future physicians with insight into how healthcare policy is shaped in Florida and how advocacy efforts are carried out on behalf of Florida-licensed physicians.

A statement from organizers expressed appreciation for those involved: “We thank all of our participants for bringing their energy and enthusiasm to this year’s event!”

The Days at the Capitol event coincided with an active period in the Florida Legislature, offering attendees a chance to experience state government operations during a busy legislative session.
