Florida Department of Health seeks families for medical foster care program

0Comments

The Florida Department of Health oversees the Medical Foster Care Program, which aims to place foster children with medical needs in family environments. The program is designed to provide these children with the care they require outside of institutional settings.

The department is currently seeking new families to participate in the program. As foster parents sometimes adopt the children they care for, there can be a shortage of available homes for other children in need. By recruiting and training additional parents, the program hopes to expand its capacity and offer more nurturing environments for medically fragile children.

The Medical Foster Care Program operates through a partnership involving the Florida Department of Health, the Agency for Health Care Administration, and the Department of Children and Families.
