A recent statewide poll conducted by the Florida Chamber of Commerce indicates that local businesses continue to enjoy strong support from Floridians, and trust in business remains high. The survey, carried out by Cherry Communications between August 13 and 24, 2025, included responses from 600 likely voters across the state.

The poll highlights ongoing support for lawsuit abuse reforms enacted in 2023. Only 11% of those surveyed believe the reforms went too far, while more than three times as many respondents favor further measures to reduce frivolous litigation in Florida. This sentiment was consistent across different racial and ethnic groups, genders, and party affiliations. The findings come as Florida’s homeowners and auto insurance markets show signs of stabilization due to increased private sector competition offering consumers more choices and exerting downward pressure on rates.

Voters also expressed skepticism toward personal injury trial lawyers who advertise heavily. According to the survey results, “Only 11% of voters polled believe the personal injury trial lawyers who advertise on billboards and television are more interested in protecting the rights of people, while 74% say they are more interested in making money, including 83% of Republicans and 71% of NPA’s.”

Support for legalizing recreational marijuana continues to fall short of the required threshold for passage. The chamber’s latest poll found that only 55% back legalization—below both a similar effort at the ballot box last November (56%) and the state’s required minimum of 60%. The release noted: “This is the seventh consecutive poll from the Florida Chamber indicating this potential amendment remains short of the 60% threshold required for passage.” Despite significant financial investment from major medicinal marijuana providers—over $145 million spent during the last election—the proposal has not gained momentum among voters.

On healthcare issues, extending enhanced premium tax credits is widely supported across all demographics and political affiliations. The poll reports that likely voters would overwhelmingly support lawmakers who vote to extend these credits set to expire at year’s end.

Views on artificial intelligence (AI) remain mixed among Floridians; when asked about their impressions, respondents were nearly evenly split with “37%…favorable impression and 38% gave an unfavorable impression,” showing little difference along party lines.

Looking ahead to future elections, Republicans maintain a substantial lead over Democrats in voter registration. As reported using data from ChamberHub as of July 31, 2025, there are currently over 1.3 million more registered Republicans than Democrats statewide—accounting for almost a ten percent advantage out of all registered voters. Since the general election in November 2022, Republicans have increased their share of active electorate across all counties while Democrats have lost ground everywhere.

As preparations begin for upcoming elections—including efforts through organizations such as Florida Free Enterprise Fund and Florida Institute for Political Leadership—the chamber intends to keep working on candidate recruitment and voter education initiatives.

The poll’s margin of error is plus or minus four percent.
