Donna Collins, a patient care technician at AdventHealth Gordon in Calhoun, has received the SonShine Award. She was recognized for her approach to patient care and attention to individual needs.
Her nomination stated: “Donna has the most wonderful way of making her patients feel like they are the only patient she has. She took care of my 77-year-old mother who has dementia, bipolar disorder and hearing loss, among other issues, but was being treated for a broken ankle and wrist. Donna has a warm and caring personality, and the extra love she gave us was as important as the medicine.”
The SonShine Award was created by AdventHealth Gordon and AdventHealth Murray in 2017 to acknowledge team members’ dedication. The award is given to those who provide warm and comforting care to both patients and colleagues.
Such awards allow patients, visitors, and staff to recognize team members whose actions reflect AdventHealth’s mission, vision, and values.
