Don Peebles, chairman and CEO of Miami Beach-based Peebles Corporation, announced on Apr. 6 the appointment of his son, Donahue Peebles III, as chief operating officer and his daughter, Chloe Peebles, as chief of staff. The appointments are part of succession planning for the real estate development firm.
Succession planning is important for companies to ensure leadership continuity and stability. By promoting family members into key roles, organizations can maintain their vision and operational consistency.
According to a news release, Donahue Peebles III has worked at the company as an executive vice president since graduating from Columbia University in 2016. In his new position as COO, he will oversee construction, asset management, and financing for the firm’s development pipeline. Chloe Peebles joins the company after working as a brand development consultant with Thryve Wealth Management in Texas. As chief of staff, she will focus on optimizing workflows and managing high-level projects.
Other leadership changes were also announced across South Florida’s real estate sector. Portman named Ian Slavin vice president of residential development; he will manage multifamily developments throughout Florida and guide growth strategy for the Atlanta-based firm led by Ambrish Baisiwala and John Portman IV. Slavin previously worked with Mivo Development Group in Boca Raton.
Catalfumo Companies hired Monique Nussbaum as general manager ahead of completing Ritz-Carlton Residences in Palm Beach Gardens later this year. Nussbaum brings experience from her prior role overseeing operations at Privé at Island Estates in Aventura and over a decade with Ritz-Carlton properties.
In brokerage news, Re/Max Advance Realty launched a Pre-Construction Luxury Division targeting South Florida’s luxury condo market under Melanie De Armas’ leadership alongside team members Antonio Aguirre, Lana Caron, Fernando De Carolis, Julieta Rivero and Fabiola Rojas.
