Daymond John, known as a businessman and TV personality on “Shark Tank,” leased 3,000 square feet at Robert Rivani’s office building in South Beach, according to a Mar. 31 announcement. The space is located at The Rivani building at 1691 Michigan Avenue in Miami Beach.

John’s lease was made public through a video featuring him that was posted on Instagram by Rivani. A representative for Rivani confirmed the size of the leased space and said it will be used for all of John’s companies, though they did not specify where the businesses are relocating from.

“You have to make a place where people want to come,” John says in the video. His comment referred to demand for high-end office spaces as executives seek quality environments for their teams.

The lease comes as Rivani’s firm works on more than $100 million in renovations of the seven-story, 163,000-square-foot mixed-use property. The renovation is expected to be completed this summer. Other tenants include PLBY Group—owners of Playboy—which has leased a penthouse and plans to move its headquarters from Los Angeles, Monarch Athletic Club which will open a gym, and several other firms such as Jills Zeder Group of Coldwell Banker, Divisadero Capital hedge fund, and Prime Longevity medical practice.

John’s ventures include Fubu apparel company and brand consultancy The Shark Group. He also maintains a coworking office at Mindspace in Wynwood. His new lease reflects an ongoing trend where executives moving or expanding into South Florida often start with smaller boutique offices before growing their local presence.
