The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens will recognize first responders with free admission on Friday, September 12. The event, called First Responders Day, aims to thank law enforcement officers, firefighters, and EMT/paramedics for their service.
First responders can receive complimentary entry to the zoo by showing proof of employment at the gate. Tickets must be purchased onsite and are not available online. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Special activities are planned during the day. Between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., fire engines and trucks from the Sanford Fire Department and Seminole County Fire Department will be present, with crews distributing items for children. The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office will also participate by providing sticker badges and equipment demonstrations.
According to the zoo’s announcement, “The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens will honor the courage and dedication of local heroes with First Responders Day on September 12.”
