AdventHealth has announced the addition of Alexandru Spulber, MD, to its team at AdventHealth Medical Group Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine at Medical Office Building in Asheville, North Carolina. Dr. Spulber is a pulmonologist and critical care physician who will provide care for various respiratory and lung diseases, including COPD, asthma, and sleep disturbances.

Dr. Spulber received his medical degree from Jagiellonian University Medical College in Krakow, Poland. He completed his internal medicine residency at Virginia Commonwealth University and his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care at UCHealth Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, Colorado.

Dr. Spulber emphasized his approach to patient care: “I consider my role one more of education, giving people a chance to do what is right for them,” he said. “If I can make them understand well enough about their body, I believe that empowers them to make the decisions that make them feel at peace and whole with regards to their mind and spirit.”

In his new position, Dr. Spulber will offer specialized consultations and treatments for conditions such as COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, and sleep disorders. He is also trained in minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for airways and lungs.

He noted that AdventHealth’s community culture was a significant factor in his decision to join the organization. “I am just excited to be a part of the culture here! I believe above all as part of work we should be kind, pleasant, and good to one another,” Dr. Spulber said. “Seeing that it is possible to have this kind of environment and culture made me really excited to get to be a part of it.”

Outside of work, Dr. Spulber enjoys spending time with his family through activities like playing soccer, listening to live music, or being with their pets.

Patients can access Dr. Spulber’s services at AdventHealth Medical Group Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine at Medical Office Building*, which is affiliated with AdventHealth Hendersonville.

AdventHealth Orlando is based in Orlando, Florida. Founded in 1908, it serves as both a pediatric hospital and training facility under the leadership of President Terry Shaw.
