AdventHealth University Denver has opened a new 16,000-square-foot facility aimed at increasing student enrollment and addressing the shortage of health care workers locally and across the United States. The opening was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by leaders in education and health care from around the country.

C. Josef Ghosn, EdD, FACHE, president and CEO of AdventHealth University, addressed attendees at the event. “This is a historic day for AdventHealth University, AdventHealth, and the Colorado community as we develop the next generation of nurses and imaging science professionals who will practice health care as a ministry,” he said. “AdventHealth University Denver boldly exemplifies our commitment to play a vital role in the health care workforce pipeline, and we are thrilled to welcome students to this wonderful space that sparks discovery, encourages excellence, and fuels purpose.”

The university’s Denver campus is marking its 16th anniversary. It offers degree programs in nursing, sonography, and radiography. The new location features modern simulation equipment, high-fidelity mannikins, an energized lab, as well as expanded classroom space for students. The site is located at 6061 S. Willow Drive in Greenwood Village within the same building as AdventHealth Rocky Mountain Region headquarters. This arrangement allows for increased collaboration between both organizations.

Brett Spenst, CEO of AdventHealth Colorado, commented on the partnership: “This partnership is more than sharing a building. It’s about sharing a vision,” he said. “Through scholarships, leadership, and clinical training, AdventHealth is committed to helping AHU students thrive.”

During the event guests had an opportunity to tour instructional spaces and interact with students, alumni and faculty members.

AdventHealth University Denver plans to double its enrollment over five to seven years from current levels up to 200-250 students.
