Patients, staff, and visitors at AdventHealth Sebring now have access to a new wellness trail on the hospital campus. The outdoor path was officially opened during a ribbon-cutting ceremony organized by the AdventHealth Sebring Foundation. The trail is intended to provide a peaceful area for walking, prayer, and reflection for anyone at the hospital or in need of a moment of calm.

The quarter-mile trail is five feet wide to ensure accessibility. Its design features shaded sections, benches, and trees along a route shaped like a cancer ribbon. The space aims to offer comfort for those supporting loved ones or seeking respite from treatment.

Funding for the project came from donations by AdventHealth employees and community members, including Lisa and Bill Jarrett. Lisa Jarrett drew inspiration from her own experiences with family members undergoing cancer treatment, noting that she often wished for an outdoor place to pause and reflect during long hospital stays.

Jason Dunkel, president and CEO of AdventHealth Sebring, expressed appreciation for the support: “We are incredibly grateful to all the donors who made this trail a reality and especially to Lisa and Bill Jarrett for their compassion, vision and generosity,” Dunkel said. “This trail represents more than a walking path. It is a gift of hope and healing for anyone who steps onto it. Our community will benefit for decades to come because of the thoughtfulness and commitment to whole‑person care shown by our gracious donors.”

Lisa Jarrett also shared a devotional message: “May God inspire you to achieve a goal that He puts in your heart. May He stir up faith as you step up and step out. May He give you fresh conviction and discipline to say no to lesser things so you can say yes to His best plan for you. May the wind of the Holy Spirit fill your daily and take you to a new, inspired place.”

Edgewood Landscape constructed the trail with guidance from the AdventHealth Sebring Foundation.

The wellness trail is now open for use by patients, caregivers, staff, visitors, and local residents.

AdventHealth Orlando was established in 1908 in Orlando, Florida. Terry Shaw serves as its current president. The hospital has both pediatric services and training programs.
