AdventHealth has received two national recognitions for its workplace culture, earning a Great Place To Work Certification and securing the No. 29 spot on the Fortune Best Workplaces in Health Care list among large companies. The honors are based on feedback from employees across the country regarding their experiences at AdventHealth.
The organization operates in diverse locations, including Kentucky, suburban Chicago, Florida cities, and Colorado mountain communities. Its mission focuses on creating supportive work environments that encourage growth and inclusion.
“Our culture, driven by our mission, is our differentiator both for our team members and the communities we serve,” said Shelli Johnson, chief people officer for AdventHealth. “When our people feel whole, they are empowered to provide every patient with wholistic, compassionate care.”
Johnson emphasized that AdventHealth’s culture is shaped by over 100,000 employees who support each other daily while providing care. She highlighted examples such as therapy dogs helping stressed staff members, colleagues distributing food during holidays, participation in global missions to countries like Kenya and Ecuador, and team efforts to assist after natural disasters.
The organization offers various benefits to its workforce including day-one benefits packages, competitive pay rates, opportunities for professional development, financial and mental health resources, and educational programs. These initiatives aim to help staff thrive so they can deliver quality care.
“When our people are at their best,” Johnson said, “they can give their best to others.”
