AdventHealth South Overland Park and AdventHealth Medical Group held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 8 to mark the official opening of AdventHealth Medical Group Primary Care at Bluhawk. The new clinic is located at 7840 W. 165th Street, Overland Park, Kansas.

The opening brings expanded access to primary care and sports medicine services for residents in the rapidly growing south Overland Park area. Dallas Purkeypile, president and CEO of AdventHealth South Overland Park, said, “Not only is AdventHealth adding more primary care medicine services to the rapidly growing south Overland Park community, we’re adding sports medicine services to help patients of all ages who are active in sports and physical well-being feel whole so they can play at their best.”

Family medicine and sports medicine physician Andrew Johnson, MD, will lead the clinical team along with advanced practice professionals. Dr. Johnson said he provides comprehensive care for patients of all ages and uses his background in sports medicine to help individuals maintain their desired level of activity as long as possible. “I believe in empowering and educating patients so that they meet their health goals, emphasizing the importance of preventative care for all patients,” said Dr. Johnson.

AdventHealth’s presence in Kansas City includes several facilities such as AdventHealth Shawnee Mission in Merriam; Lenexa City Center; Prairie Star; College Boulevard; South Overland Park; Centra Care; and Medical Group locations. Nationally, more than 100,000 team members provide whole-person care through over 2,000 sites including hospitals and outpatient clinics.

In related context about AdventHealth’s broader network, its Orlando facility was founded in 1908 and serves as both a pediatric ward provider and training hospital under current president Terry Shaw according to available information.

The addition of this new clinic is part of ongoing efforts by AdventHealth to expand healthcare options across communities it serves.
