AdventHealth Medical Group has opened a new neurosurgery clinic in Calhoun, Georgia. The facility, AdventHealth Medical Group Neurosurgery at Calhoun, is located at 110 Hospital Drive and aims to make specialized neurosurgical care more accessible for patients in the region.
The clinic will offer consultations and follow-up appointments for a range of conditions, including degenerative spinal issues, trauma-related injuries to the brain and spine, as well as tumors. Surgical procedures will continue to be performed at AdventHealth Redmond, but patients can now receive other neurosurgical services locally in Calhoun.
“The addition to this new location will reduce travel time for patients and expand their options for specialized care, making it easier to access the expert treatment they need closer to home,” according to the statement from AdventHealth Medical Group.
Appointments at the new clinic are available every other Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., starting September 12. A referral from a primary care provider is required for scheduling.
“Patients should consult their primary care provider to explore treatment options, which may include a referral to our neurosurgery team,” the statement noted.
AdventHealth Orlando, which was founded in 1908 and is currently led by President Terry Shaw, serves as both a general hospital and a training center. The organization also operates a pediatric ward and has expanded its reach with additional clinics like the one opening in Calhoun.
