AdventHealth Medical Group has opened its first clinic in St. Johns County, providing residents with increased access to specialty medical care. The new 3,000-square-foot facility is located at 1000 Plantation Island Drive in St. Augustine and brings together physicians specializing in cardiology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, urogynecology, nephrology, neurosurgery, bariatric surgery, vascular and general surgery.

With the opening of this clinic, local residents will have more convenient options for specialty care without needing to travel outside the county. Bryan Mueller, President and CEO of AdventHealth Medical Group, said: “Our goal is simple: to make it easier for people to get the care they need, when and where they need it. This clinic brings expert physicians closer to home in an environment built around convenience, compassion, and connection.”

AdventHealth’s expansion into St. Johns County follows over twenty years of service in neighboring Flagler County. In Flagler County alone, AdventHealth has invested more than $200 million in facilities such as a hospital and cancer treatment center. Denyse Bales-Chubb, president and CEO for AdventHealth’s Flagler and St. Johns market stated: “Having the presence we have had in Flagler County for many years now, it’s a natural extension to move across the county lines and offer that same care here in St. Augustine.”

The new clinic is part of several ongoing projects by AdventHealth in St. Johns County. Earlier this year the organization began construction on a 12-bed freestanding emergency department along State Road 207 near Wildwood Drive; this facility is expected to open in 2026 and will provide round-the-clock emergency services locally.

Additionally, AdventHealth purchased 21.5 acres earlier this year in the World Commerce Center area for future development aimed at meeting growing healthcare needs within the county.

Headquartered in Central Florida—where its flagship hospital was founded in Orlando in 1908—AdventHealth operates 32 hospitals across Florida as well as numerous clinics and freestanding emergency rooms statewide (https://www.adventhealth.com/hospital/adventhealth-orlando). The organization continues its mission to extend whole-person care throughout the region.
