AdventHealth Medical Group has opened a new chiropractic clinic in Calhoun, Georgia, expanding its services to provide more options for community members seeking care close to home. The facility, AdventHealth Medical Group Chiropractic Medicine at Calhoun, welcomes Chris Nelson, DC, as its chiropractor.

Dr. Nelson brings expertise in active release technique and Graston therapy, along with experience in both instrument and manual adjustments. According to the organization, “The opening of this new chiropractic clinic reflects AdventHealth Medical Group’s continued commitment to expanding whole-person care close to home, ensuring community members have convenient access to treatments that support their health, mobility and overall well‑being.”

Dr. Nelson holds a Doctor of Chiropractic degree and a Master of Sports Medicine from Life University in Marietta, Georgia. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and government from the University of Georgia in Athens. He focuses on treating conditions such as back pain, neck pain, posture issues, functional movement problems, headaches, sciatica, joint pain, arthritis and whiplash. “He is dedicated to improving function and helping patients live life to the fullest,” the announcement stated. “He specializes in back pain, neck pain, posture, functional movement, headaches, sciatica, joint pain, arthritis and whiplash. Dr. Nelson works collaboratively with you and a multidisciplinary team to accomplish desired treatment goals with care and compassion.”

Outside his professional work at the clinic located at 400 Timms Road in Calhoun (appointments can be scheduled by calling 706-625-2703), Dr. Nelson enjoys spending time with friends and family as well as playing golf and tennis.

AdventHealth Medical Group is part of AdventHealth Orlando—a hospital founded in 1908 that serves as both a pediatric ward provider and training hospital under current president Terry Shaw—further supporting its mission of delivering comprehensive health services across various locations.
