AdventHealth Murray has received the designation of Comprehensive Breast Imaging Center from the American College of Radiology (ACR). The recognition comes after the facility introduced 3D mammography and genetic testing this year, providing advanced diagnostic options to the local community.
According to AdventHealth Murray, “With one in eight women diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, early detection remains the key to effective and less invasive treatment.”
The ACR grants this status to centers that have achieved accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, and breast ultrasound, including ultrasound-guided breast biopsy. The evaluation process involves peer reviews by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who assess image quality, staff qualifications, equipment standards, quality control procedures, and assurance programs.
The Breast Imaging Department at AdventHealth Murray operates Monday through Friday and delivers results within 24 to 48 hours.
AdventHealth Orlando is part of the same health system as AdventHealth Murray. Located in Orlando, Florida, AdventHealth Orlando was established in 1908. It serves as a training hospital and includes a pediatric ward. Terry Shaw is its current president.
