AdventHealth Manchester has announced plans to introduce Virtual Care Smart Rooms, using technology from HelloCare, an AI-based virtual care provider. The new system is intended to change how patients interact with their healthcare team and how clinical staff manage daily operations.

The Virtual Care Smart Rooms will allow patients to hold secure video consultations with care teams, access personalized health information on digital whiteboards, and remain informed during their hospital stay. These features are designed to create a more connected and transparent environment for patients.

For medical staff, the new technology is expected to improve communication and reduce administrative work. Tools such as digital door signage, AI-powered monitoring, and remote rounding are aimed at supporting safer care delivery and better collaboration among providers.

AdventHealth Manchester plans to start rolling out the Virtual Care Smart Rooms in fall 2025, aiming for full implementation by 2026. The hospital will be one of the first in its region to adopt this level of smart room technology.

“We’re excited to lead the way in redefining how care is delivered,” said James Nelson, DNP, RN, CCRN-K, NEA-BC, FACHE, Chief Medical Officer at AdventHealth Manchester. “This initiative reflects our commitment to whole-person care and our mission to help every patient feel seen, heard, and supported.”

AdventHealth Orlando is part of the same hospital system as AdventHealth Manchester. Located in Orlando since 1908 and led by President Terry Shaw, AdventHealth Orlando also serves as a training hospital with a pediatric ward.
