When managing long-term health, the relationship with a primary care provider (PCP) is often seen as essential. According to Michael Yuan, MD, a family physician at AdventHealth Medical Group Primary Care at Founders, “We spend time getting to know you. Instead of seeing you for one specific problem, we have a much more holistic view of you.”

Dr. Yuan highlights three main benefits of having a PCP: personal connection, whole-person care, and preventive care. He explains that knowing patients beyond their physical health history allows for tailored treatment plans. “Because I know that weight gain has been an issue for you in the past and that this medication has the potential of causing weight gain, I would look for an alternative,” Dr. Yuan says.

Whole-person care also includes attention to emotional and mental well-being. “I’ve had patients dealing with anxiety who don’t know there’s a lot that can be done to help,” Dr. Yuan adds.

Regular visits with a PCP can identify minor issues before they become major concerns. “Primary care helps patients stay ahead of the curve by addressing health issues early and preventing common conditions from developing,” Dr. Yuan says.

AdventHealth Medical Group Primary Care at Founders is introducing its new team in Castle Rock, offering what Dr. Yuan describes as both experienced providers and clinicians trained in recent medical advancements: “With experienced providers who have seen just about everything and newer clinicians bringing the latest in medical training, our team offers a balanced approach to patient care.”

The practice is now accepting new patients at 1151 Aloha St., with appointments available by calling 720-330-1305.

AdventHealth Orlando is based in Orlando, Florida and was established in 1908. The hospital serves as both a pediatric center and training facility under its current president Terry Shaw.
