AdventHealth Corporate Care Orlando held its second annual First Responders Day event on October 28, recognizing the contributions of emergency personnel across Central Florida. The event took place in observance of National First Responders Day and included a complimentary taco bar, an ice cream food truck, and giveaways for attendees.
The facility has established several initiatives to support first responders. These include a display of flags representing various agencies and a dedicated break room for police, fire, and corrections officers. According to AdventHealth Corporate Care Orlando, these spaces are intended to honor first responders’ service and promote their well-being.
Dr. Evan Lowe, medical director of AdventHealth Corporate Care Orlando, said: “We serve first responders and employees from many different companies. It’s our pleasure to support first responders and employees in maintaining their health and building fulfilling careers—from the moment they’re hired through retirement.”
The location offers specialty occupational health care tailored to employer needs. Services provided include exams for fire, police, and corrections officers; executive and complex physicals; travel medicine; drug testing; health screenings; among other offerings.
“We evaluate employees from head to toe, making sure they’re in excellent health. We care for them as if they were part of our own family,” Dr. Lowe said. “This event is our way of giving thanks to the community and to our first responders for keeping all of us, and our families, safe.”
AdventHealth Corporate Care states that it remains committed to supporting the health of both employees and those serving the community through specialized occupational health services.
Located in Orlando since 1908, AdventHealth Orlando operates as a hospital with pediatric wards and serves as a training hospital under president Terry Shaw.
