AdventHealth Georgia is encouraging residents in Northwest Georgia to participate in the “Light Your Porch Pink” initiative throughout October, aiming to raise awareness about breast cancer. The campaign invites community members to install pink light bulbs on their front porches as a symbol of support for those affected by the disease.

According to AdventHealth, breast cancer impacts one in eight women and is more treatable when detected early. The organization is urging women to schedule annual mammograms at its locations in Rome, Calhoun, or Chatsworth. AdventHealth offers 3D mammograms that can be completed within 30 minutes.

Thousands of pink light bulbs will be distributed across Floyd, Gordon, and Murray counties starting September 15, 2025. Residents can pick up bulbs at several AdventHealth facilities including:

– AdventHealth Gordon (East Entrance Lobby, North Entrance Lobby, Edna Owens Breast Center) in Calhoun
– AdventHealth Murray (Main Entrance Lobby) in Chatsworth
– AdventHealth Redmond (Main Entrance Lobby, Women’s Center, Outpatient Entrance) in Rome
– AdventHealth Medical Group offices at Shorter Avenue (Rome), Trion, and Cedartown

Participants are encouraged to share photos of their pink-lit porches on social media using the hashtag #PinkPorchGA and include personal messages about their connection to breast cancer.

“Seeing our community light up in pink is a powerful reminder of the strength and resilience of those impacted by breast cancer,” said Josefer Montes, executive director of marketing and brand at AdventHealth Georgia. “We hope this visible show of support continues to spark conversations and encourage loved ones to prioritize regular screenings.”
