AdventHealth Fish Memorial has opened an outpatient pharmacy on its campus in Orange City, Florida. The new facility, located in the Summit Building at 1061 Medical Center Drive, Suite 112, aims to improve access to medications and offer support for patients, visitors, and local residents.
The pharmacy is the first of its kind within AdventHealth’s East Florida Division. It provides prescription medications, over-the-counter products, and direct guidance from a pharmacy team. For patients being discharged from the hospital, prescriptions can now be filled before leaving the facility. This allows patients to review medication instructions and ask questions while still in contact with their care providers. Pharmacists work closely with healthcare providers to help ensure that patients understand their medications.
Eric Lunde, president and CEO of AdventHealth Fish Memorial, stated: “A pharmacy isn’t just about medications in a bottle. It’s often where people pause and realize they still have questions. We want to create a space where people feel comfortable having those conversations right away, instead of leaving with uncertainty.”
The decision to open the outpatient pharmacy was influenced by findings from the hospital’s most recent Community Health Needs Assessment. The assessment identified that many area residents face challenges when navigating health care services or accessing available resources. By offering on-site pharmacy services, AdventHealth Fish Memorial seeks to make it easier for community members to receive needed support.
The outpatient pharmacy operates Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
AdventHealth Orlando is part of the same health system as AdventHealth Fish Memorial but is located in Orlando, Florida. Founded in 1908 and led by President Terry Shaw, AdventHealth Orlando features a pediatric ward and serves as a training hospital.
