AdventHealth has announced the acquisition of GenesisCare locations in North Carolina, which will now operate as AdventHealth Medical Group Radiation Oncology. The purchase also includes Asheville Urological Associates’ clinics in Asheville and Hendersonville, bringing the total number of new clinics to 11.

The move addresses a decline in oncology services in Western North Carolina over the past six years, following several closures and consolidations. By integrating GenesisCare’s radiation oncology centers, AdventHealth aims to fill this gap and offer its approach to care throughout the state. The transition involves advanced technology such as linear accelerators that are already incorporated into AdventHealth’s outpatient departments.

The addition of Asheville Urological Associates is expected to allow specialists there to continue serving current patients without interruption, while also responding to increased demand for urological care.

“This acquisition is a promise to our community,” said Christy Sneller, Vice President of Physician Services for AdventHealth’s North Carolina Market. “By welcoming both the GenesisCare radiation oncology offices and Asheville Urological Associates into the AdventHealth family, we’re expanding access to expert, whole-person care across our region. We understand how overwhelming a cancer diagnosis or complex urological condition can be, and we’re committed to making sure patients have even more access to trusted, compassionate care close to home. This is a vital step in our mission to be the health care system our communities want and need, one that cares for body, mind and spirit.”

Patients at these newly acquired locations will have access to advanced technologies and personalized treatment plans. They will also benefit from Oncology Nurse Navigators who guide them through their treatment process. Additionally, these facilities hold accreditations from both the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) and the Commission on Cancer (CoC).

This expansion aligns with AdventHealth’s mission of extending its healing ministry throughout North Carolina.
