Have all the smart stock market people been watching Cramer for the past hour?
Is that how you get to be smart about the stock market, by watching Cramer on TV?
Public Comments
- sure
- did Cramer ever tell people once over the past year that we were in a bear market did he advise his viewers ever to sell a stock short Cramer is a total idiot the only thing he does is to hype stocks on his show all the time and then they go down Barrons had a cover story on him about a year ago and all his picks were losers according to the story Another person doing a big disservice to the public
- No, he's a clown. Didn't he tell people to buy Bear Stearns when it sunk to a very low level - because it just *had* to rebound!!
- cramer is joke... he goes on national television and suggest stocks to people then it goes down... SEC should invisitagte, some times i wonder if he doing a pump and dump for his benefit...
- Cramer has his strengths and his weaknesses. His main value is trumpeting market trends and agency warnings - but he is by no means always right. If you know what he's advising, you can often fade the stocks he picks, because, against his advice, people go right out and buy them after hours and the very next day. That would not fall in the "smart" category. What I don't appreciate about Cramer is how he kisses up to CEOs on his show, or how he claims to be accountable for key picks, but isn't. He's vocal about the ones where he was right. And one of those he deserves credit for - his projections about the market and the need for the Fed to engage earlier last year than it did. He was completely right. And that was a big call. If you listen to the first two minutes of the first two program segments he broadcasts every night, that is all you'll ever need (maximum) from Cramer. Everything else is sizzle. Fast Money is the same - get the first few minutes regarding market impressions, and anything Dennis Gartman offers as a guest - he is exceptionally bright. Macke knows food and retail, Adami financials and commodities, Karen, value investing, and Pete options/futures and tech/health care. The rest is fringe and window dressing. Rarely does what these people say buck the major trend indicators, but occassionally they'll provide an insight or a tip that will make it worth the watch. Why? Because others buying stock listen.
