religion is just a book and smart marketing, don't u think? the more I think about it, the more it's all starting to make sense I used to be a Christian, in fact, probably a very 'devout' one, reading (AND researching) Bible like crazy every day, every night. but then, gradually, I've started to get more & more questions instead of answers until at one point, I gave it up, and started to become an agnostic. now, fast forward 3 years ever since I've decided to be an agnostic, everytime I see my Christian friends (& family), I'm starting to see more clearly what religion (including Christianity) is all about: isn't it all just a book, plus combined with SMART 'marketing' ? it's kinda like, someone knocking on your door, and saying "hi, I have a *faith package* (the same with holiday package) that's going to be suitable for you and your family. so here's a short explanation about it: bla bla bla bla,..and here's the MANUAL guide a.k.a: the "BOOK" . read it, and come to our MEETING, and hope you'll JOIN us!!" and plus, if you're critical enough, you'll soon find many errors in the "BOOK" , but by then,..you're usually already JOIN & 'indebted' in the group! ie: people will start judging you as a sinner, lack of FAITH, etc etc. while really........it's all seems only man-made without any SOLID proof whatsoever about God's intervention in our daily lives, or some REAL (not what those religious folks *said*) supernatural proof from God, or whatever! so yeah, really,.don't u think so? P.S: for those faithful, religious people out there, i hope you don't get offended because I'm just stating what i'm feeling personally here. if you'd like to give some explanations or "proofs", then by all means, please do so i'd love to hear any argument, but it would be the BEST if you can just straight-away give me a solid proof, as a follower of your "God" . thanks.
Opinions from all races: Is this racist or just smart marketing? The recent movie "Extraordinary Measures," (based on a true story) with Brendan Fraser and Harrison Ford is about a parent (Fraser) trying to find a cure for a disease his children has, so he turns to a doctor (Ford) with a experimental cure. Thing is, in the actual story, Ford's character was not white. He was Chinese. In the movie, the Chinese doctor was played by a white actor... Do you think it was racist for casting a white instead of an Asian? Or do you feel it was a good move because more people would be interested if a famous white actor was in the movie? http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2010100129996 I'd like to hear opinions from people of all races. i don't give out thumbs downs, only thumbs up.
Is buying name brand shoes at the flea market a smart idea? I was thinking about buying shoes from the flea market. Reason being is that I am low on money and I have to go school shopping soon. The kind of shoes I saw out there were Nike, Jordans, & etc. Is it a smart idea to buy them from the flea market at a low price or buy then full price like $70-$90 at the mall?

How does one describe organizational buyers and consumers of a Smart Credit Card? This is a marketing question in marketing a new universal credit card system. Presenting a universal model of its debit/credit card machine. By definition, ‘universal’ is intended to represent a model that will be compatible with any existing system currently being used in retail stores and grocery markets. Since patrons of these industries are able to swipe (process) their own transactions, these specific businesses will be the target market of the new product Smart-System is offering. It will be designed to have a capability to integrate with all existing systems at retail and grocery....etc. Need to describe the organizational buyers and consumers of this product and the factors that influence their purchasing decisions? Discuss how these factors will impact your marketing strategy. Can a marketing expert assist me?

What's up with the spammers in the fishing section marketing shoes? I mean, marketing shoes in the fishing section? That's like selling a blind man a pair of bifocals. It's ridiculous. And they really do have convincing names to convince people that they are real people and not just people coming to spam, things such as "gjbdifis" and "jbdjbf" are the names of these people. How smart can people get?
Is it smart to take an offer that was made on your house after being on the market for one week? & is it smart to take the first offer? My parent's are selling our house for $415,000, and they're already selling the house for much less than it's worth, and now they want to take the first offer they got after the house has been on the market for only a week. I know I obviously cannot stop them from doing what they want with their house, but I am just wondering if what they're doing is very smart.
Can a child seat be used in the SMART car? Just looking into the upcoming release of the SMART car into the USA market in 2008. Since there are airbags all over the place in the car - what will happen if people have small kids who need to use a car seat? I looked on the website - and there is no information listed regarding child seats.
What do marketing/advertizing professionals tell their children about marketing? As adults, we know that most marketing/advertizing needs to be taken with a grain of salt - and the quantity of salt keeps increasing as time goes by. Most smart adults learn to see through the hype, but children can and do get affected by these messages. I am sure that professionals working in these fields have come up with ways to protect their own children from their own work as well as the work of their counterparts in other industries. Would any of them care to share their ideas?
How does affiliate marketing work? Let's say, you're selling something for $1000 and giving $400 commission per item to each affiliate (40% commission). What if people who want to buy your product are smart enough to sign up as your affiliate, buy the product, pay $1000 and get $400 back, thereby ending up paying only $600 nett. Wouldn't it spoil the whole affiliate marketing structure?
Which is the Best Smart Phone for Sprint: MOTO Q, Centro or Blackberry Pearl? I am in the market for a new smart phone. My options are the BlackBerry Pearl, Palm Centro and the Motorola MOTO Q. The MOTO Q is much cheaper in price. Anyone know the difference between the 3 in terms of Operating System and ability to access online documents, etc? Most of my productivity is done on the cloud through Web 2.0 apps.
MARKETING AND IS THIS A SMART MOVE AND HOW DO I? I found out about a new business through a friend's mom whom has been making money through it for a while. I started my own site and slowly but surely started receiving decent amount of income. I want to take it bigger and get to my friend's mom status how do I market online without becoming broke. I'm enjoying my income now from the business but don't want to use it all up. www.5linx.net/Dozie It provides help in these bad economies by creating business oppurtunities or simply saving. If you can't save on the product then don't get it but pass it on to someone who can. It is as simple as that. I AM AGAINST BUYING WHAT YOU DON'T NEED AND SAVING MONEY ON WAT YOU ALREADY HAVE AND NEED.
I bought my house on a coownership scheme - smart move given current economic climate? I currently own a 40 % share in the house. It cost £165,000. Co-ownership own 60 %. I can buy the whole house or a bigger share at any time. Given housing market trends was this a smart move. If my house goes into negative equity then it will be cheaper for me to purchase remainder from co-ownership right? The reverse happens too - if the house makes profit then I lose as its more expensive for me to buy.
Are there any reports available of market share for cell phones / smart phones? I am thinking of possibly starting a business that deals with mobile development. What is the best Smart phone/pda on the market? My treo 700wx desperately needs a replacement. Preferably one with a bit more processing power (312 mhz for the treo) and a bigger screen (about 2" for the treo). Any suggestions? Oh, and it MUST have a full or QWERTY keyboard, as well as be touch screen
Do you think that artists who market reproductions are sell-outs or smart? As an artist, I'm torn on how I feel about folks who mass-produce their artwork and then sell them for buckets of cash. On one hand, it gives people the opportunity to enjoy artwork at a lesser cost than an original, but on the other, it DOES seem kind of like a sell-out tactic. I guess it's often down to the dollar though. What do you think?

For my particular situation, Would it be smart for me to rent to own a home? I make great money, my credit is very shacky with a small FICA Score of 590, Now that I am making good money I am paying off my debts and should be debt free in a yr. Also in 1 yr my contracted job ends. I am in the middle of making a transition, of opening a buisness, and realisticly looking at making between 6,000 on shaky months and atleast 9,000+ on normal to good months. But my Credit is bad and I found A condo I would like to own , provided the Contract is Favorable should I do rent to own. I mean I cant be 100% my buisness plan is going to go exactly how I want it to go. I think I am a smart buisness minded individual, before I make this decision, I would like thaughts from other intelligent people. Please keep in mind I am in Central Cali, and the Market is down right now. Any inputs would bve greatly apreciated.
Is it smart to invest in Chinese stocks right now? I know nothing about the stock market and to be honest, I'm hoping to find the next Dell or Microsoft and hit it big in a short period (2-6 years). It doesn't have to be tech stock and I've been told by some people that Chinese stocks are the way to go as the economy is booming there due to their modernization. Is this smart or should I just keep my money in traditional investments like 401Ks? Like most people, I just want to retire before I'm too old to enjoy it. I don't waste my money, but I know next to nothing about investing or making the most out of my money. Any advice is appreciated.
Is it a smart investment to buy land parcels on Ebay? I want to get into buying land holds and have been looking into Ebay. I dont care where in the country but I want to start out small...any advice?
Is it smart to start buying stocks right now? I'm not very savvy when it comes to investing in the stock market. I'm 23 years old, and have (especially lately) been hearing a lot about it being smart to buy stocks right now. I wanted to find out a few things: First, how do you purchase stocks? Second, why is it or isn't it a good time to buy? And lastly, if it is a good time to invest - what are some safe stocks to buy for a long term investment? Thank you for your knowledge!
How smart is the average person? The mean IQ, 100, slowly increases due to the Flynn effect. How smart is someone with the current (circa 2009) score of 100? What math can't they do? What is their reading level? How much do they know about the world? This information is useful to almost everyone. An example is those who "market" (not necessarily commercially) for the masses. To rephrase the question: What can't most of the audience understand?
Tomato Trees - bogus advertising or has anyone actually grown one? Last year ordered through a magazine and three dead tiny plants arrived - hard won refund. Supposedly grows to 8' in a few months and produces 60lbs of tomatoes per plant. Still seeing them advertised on Smart Market fliers, etc. Hmmmm Please share any knowledge of them or your tomato growing tips?
Do regulations in the marketing and advertising department should be revised? everyday we see tons and tons of commercial, some are really agressive for the human consicence. Futhermore It reduces the appearance of small markets and we dont know the real effects of a human beeing constantly exposed to advertizing. Sure I understand the economic aspect behind the matter...(tv, radio, and sponsorship its essential..) but lets put that aside and just look at the question and ask if the morality behind the advertizements is right?..on one hand, one have the freedom to sell you anything as long as it does not harm you( my argument there is just one's gotta be able to judge what is right for him or what is wrong, and this is not their problems if they fool you because you are free to choose) but on the other hand, the power and the tools that compagny have could be so powerful that some day it' will fool anybody..even the smartest( I push to the extreme just to show my point).. So were do we have to draw the line? here's my question..I'll be very interrested to know!
